Who we are
AIDIO is an AI-powered mixing and mastering assistant distributed as a VST3 plugin. The controller of your data is AIDIO (contact: rafael@aidiomusic.ai). This policy covers both the AIDIO and AIDIO Reader plugins, and this website.
What data the plugin collects
Your audio is never transmitted. The AIDIO plugin analyses your session locally on your computer. Raw audio, stems, samples, and project files are never uploaded to our servers under any circumstances.
When the plugin is running, it may send the following data to AIDIO servers:
- Licence validation data, your licence code, a machine identifier, and a timestamp, used to confirm that your subscription is valid. This occurs on first launch and periodically thereafter to support offline use.
- Acoustic measurements, anonymised signal-level metrics derived from your session (e.g. frequency balance, dynamic range values, loudness readings). These are numerical measurements only. They contain no audio content and cannot be used to reconstruct your music.
- Chat interaction data, the questions you type into the AIDIO chat interface, and the answers the AI provides. This data is anonymised and used to improve response quality. It is never linked to your identity or your project name.
- Session metadata, anonymised data about how you use the plugin (which tabs are opened, feature usage frequency, session length). No audio or project content is included.
In summary: we collect measurements about your mix (numbers, not sound), your questions and the AI's answers (anonymised), and basic usage patterns. We never collect audio, stems, or any audio content.
By installing and activating the plugin, you consent to this data collection. You acknowledged this in-plugin during activation. If you have questions, contact us at rafael@aidiomusic.ai.
What data the website collects
This website may collect:
- Your name and email address if you submit the alpha-application form.
- Basic web analytics (page views, country, browser type) if analytics are enabled. No personally identifying information is stored in analytics.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing tools.
Legal basis for processing (EU / GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your data are:
- Contract performance, processing necessary to deliver the service you subscribed to (licence validation, AI responses).
- Legitimate interests, anonymised analytics used to improve the product, where those interests do not override your rights.
- Consent, where you have explicitly opted in (e.g. submitting the alpha application form).
Data storage and transfers
Data may be processed and stored on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where data is transferred internationally, we take appropriate steps to ensure it remains protected in accordance with applicable law.
How long we keep your data
- Licence records: retained for the lifetime of your subscription, then deleted within 90 days of cancellation.
- Anonymised measurements and chat data: retained indefinitely in anonymised form for product improvement.
- Alpha application emails: retained until the programme concludes, then deleted.
Your rights (EU/UK residents)
Under GDPR and the UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format).
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent).
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email rafael@aidiomusic.ai. We will respond within 30 days.
Future payment processing
When AIDIO moves to paid subscriptions, payments will be processed by a third-party payment provider (e.g. Stripe). The payment provider will have its own privacy policy. We will never store raw card numbers. This policy will be updated before paid plans launch.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via the plugin's in-app notification system and by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
